My Travel Story

The IVHQ animal care project has given me the opportunity to go to Lison to help rehome abandoned cats and dogs. We will be keeping the animals healthy and happy, while ensuring that the sanctuary that the animals are staying in is clean and taken care of. This program will help me develop my communication skills while also learning how to take care and rehibilitate these animals.
I chose Portugal because I felt this was a safe place for me to travel to as a single traveler. I wanted to volunteer in a country where I could make a real difference. The animal program called to me because I have a love for animals. I want to be able to find homes for these animals while keeping them healthy and happy in the adoption process. Seeing the pictures of all the animals that need to be rehomed just moved me. I love dogs especially and I could never imagine my dog being lost in the streets. I would want someone to take care of my dog if this ever happened and now I have the opportunity to go take care of the lost animals in Lisbon. This is a truly amazing opportunity and anything helps.
