For 15 years, our long-awaited honeymoon has remained a distant dream. Despite our fervent desire, circumstances conspired against us, leading us to prioritize the needs of our children and others over our own. With selflessness, we put our plans on hold time and again. The hurdles seemed unending – a persistently unreliable car, forcing us to divert our resources; the upheaval of moving, demanding our attention and resources once more; and even the cruel hand of Hurricane Citation, which repeatedly thwarted our attempts.
Undeterred, I endeavored to save secretly, aiming to surprise my Wife with a long-overdue getaway. The vision of a cruise or a flight to a destination she holds dear was the beacon guiding my efforts. Yet, fate seemed to mock our plans each time, finding new ways to postpone our cherished journey. Despite these setbacks, our determination and love endured, as did the promise of an eventual escape. In the face of adversity, our bond remains unbreakable, and the idea of that postponed honeymoon continues to symbolize our unwavering commitment to each other.
