My Travel Story

I have been accepted to a once in a life time Study Abroad Program to do humanitarian work with African Refugee Camps in Uganda and Rwanda. In this program I will be able to see firsthand refugee health and social challenges with the camps and I will also gain an understanding of the impact of conflict on healthcare delivery and the health of populations. Fundings are currently hard for me since I am a full-time student at Utah Tech University and currently enrolled in their LPN to RN program and I am only able to work part time as a Licensed Practical Nurse at a local nursing home helping the geriatic community. Funds are the only thing stopping me for I have true passion with helping others. I was a CNA for 6 years before I became a nurse and I have been a nurse for 2.5 years. With my current education and skill set I really feel I can help those in the Refugee camp with whatever needs they may have.
