My Travel Story

Hi, my name is Alisina and many know me at university as a polyglot who speaks 9 languages. I’m a freshman student at the American University of Central Asia (AUCA) majoring in Business Administration.

Why did I start a fundraiser?

I have already been nominated by AUCA for an exchange program at Southern Denmark University (SDU) for the Fall semester of 2022. To take part, I need support in terms of my accommodation and living expenses for six months which are the only and major obstacles to my participation in this program despite all my efforts.

Why do I deserve your support?

I have successfully passed the selection processes of the program. However, I am afraid that the financial matters of the program which are behind the control of a student will stop me from taking this fascinating opportunity.

Till now, I was able to finance about half of my expenses for my exchange semester amounting to $3250 from the U.S.-CAEF, SILC Award, and internship position. But, I still need to cover my six months stay of accommodation and living expenditures amounting to $1956 and $2850 respectively.

My main goal in studying abroad is to advance in the field of sustainable finance by learning from leading professionals about successful European cases and their application to Central Asia. The host university has amazing expertise in social entrepreneurship. Thus, upon return, I will share my gained research and skills with the wider community of students to impact a larger population.

Considering my personality, I look at the value of something more and aim to foresee a better version of myself every day. Having these in mind, I was part of an essential civic engagement program to organize the plantation of more than 300 plants in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan.

The educational program is fascinating, and I would be grateful for any donated amount. There is an Eastern saying that oceans are born from drops! Any amount that you donate will help, whether you donate $1, $5, $100 or more.
