Hello everyone!

As some of you may know, I have been in emergency medicine for a total of 7 years. The past 4 years I have been a paramedic, working in 911 and responding to a wide range of calls. During this time, I have gained a wealth of knowledge in medicine and in life. I have done everything from backcountry rescue, water rescues, urban, suburban and rural 911, as well as COVID and hurricane deployments.

I have loved my career so far, but I am looking to change things up a bit. It has always been my goal to bring my skillset internationally and I recently applied to the IVHQ for volunteer deployment opportunities. Based on my skill set, I was accepted quickly for multiple international deployments. I chose to be deployed to Tanzania for 2 weeks on May 15th, 2024.

The cost is approximately $3500 for airfare, accommodations, food, transport, and other miscellaneous expenses only related to the volunteer trip. I am starting a FundMyTravel to help cover these costs and I would be absolutely honored and so unbelievably grateful for any donations. I will be posting updates frequently, so you will be able to directly see how your donation is being used and the difference we are making!

I chose this destination for a number of reasons. In Tanzania, I will be able to use my skills to help under resourced areas in so many ways. I will be assisting in operating rooms, going out to rural areas to work in a clinic seeing patients, working with pharmaceuticals, and more! This area of the world has always been interesting to me because of the terrain, wildlife, and culture. My wife, Sian, will be meeting me there after my volunteer duties have ended. We plan to explore the area together as our honeymoon! We plan to hopefully visit Serengeti National Park, Zanzibar, and much more.
