My Travel Story
My name is Lana, I'm 26 and I currently reside in Seattle, Washington.
Ever since I was very young, I knew that the USA would not be my forever home. I am a strong believer that just because you're born in one country, that doesn't mean you truly belong there.
I have been fortunate enough to travel a little bit (New Zealand, Iceland, Singapore, Thailand) and these trips have been the highlights of my life. I left each place feeling more culturally enriched and inspired to make a change in my life and move. The question is where.
My soul has a constant and all-consuming desire to see the world and find where I belong. I am always researching and planning, in an effort to make a well-informed decision. However, I don't want to blindly commit to one place before experiencing what the rest of the world may have to offer.
This campaign is not purely a financial request- though I was devastatingly impacted by Covid-19 and my travel savings were nearly depleted. I am seeking, as well: networking resources, input from other world travellers, or even new friends who share the same dream of living a nomadic lifestyle in the pursuit of finding themselves and their home. I would be so happy to meet you and talk with you!
I am a hardworking professional in a very corporate and suffocating atmosphere, which has certainly fed into the unhappiness I feel and urgency to build a new life. So along with a scenery change, I am also hoping try new things, find a passion; anything that might give me a sense of purpose while also giving back or leaving a mark. As it is now, I wake up and sit behind a computer all day with no sense of fulfillment or professional satisfation.
My intent for this campaign, and for travel in general, is to learn. I have a never-ending hunger for knowledge and culture and experience. What's beautiful in the world? What's ugly? What needs fixing? And, can I help fix it? These are some of the questions I ponder frequently.
Bottom line: I believe I am meant for more. I believe there is a calling for me somewhere, in some way. I just need help finding it.
