My Travel Story

I have been lucky enough to be accepted into one of the world's best film schools; The Vancouver Film School in Canada, where I will be studying acting for film and television in May 2017!

I have always been passionate about the performing arts, acting most of all, and it has always been my dream to become an actor. I don't want to be famous; all I want is to be able to have a happy life, working in a job that I love, and honestly, the only thing I can see myself actually enjoying doing is acting.

I am from New Zealand, and I could have chosen to study some where here, but after all my searching I couldn't find anything that really inspired me. Then I found VFS. From all that I have seen, this is a fantastic school, that helps its students reach their full potentional and helps get them known in the industry. As soon as I saw the website I knew I had to apply, and I am still so shocked and overjoyed that I was accepted.

Because I am an international student, my fees are very expensive, and I also need to rent an apartment, pay for flights, a visa and insurance, so it's quite costly. I have been working full time and saving everything that I can, but it still looks like it might not be enough.

This is a great opportunity for me, and I think it will help my skills and career tremendously, as well as my personal self. Moving across the world by myself at 19 will be quite the experience!
