My Travel Story

This experience will impact my career by:
-  Allowing me to immerse myself in a potential country I want to work and study in, in the future.
- Helping me to build networks with people abroad.
- Providing me with the opportunity to conduct research that will enhance my experience in my field of interest.

My goal as a career is to eventually conduct research and teach, preferably in a different country. To achieve this goal, I plan to pursue a master's degree and a joint Ph.D. in anthropology and East Asian literature/languages. This experience will influence my decision-making about what type of research I want to conduct in the future and whether I want to work in Japan.

I am passionate about going abroad because I believe that everyone should have the opportunity to learn about and appreciate different cultures. I also believe that culture and language are essential for building understanding and connections between people from different backgrounds.

I have personal experience with the benefits of cultural exchange through my abroad experience in Florence, Italy, and growing up in a multicultural community. I have seen firsthand the power of culture to bring people together and create a more inclusive and welcoming world.

I chose Japan because I am fascinated by its culture and language, and I believe that I can make a positive impact on the community. As an Asian studies minor, I have a particular interest in Japanese history and culture, and Kyoto is a city that I have always dreamed of visiting. I am drawn to Japan's ancient temples, its holistic approach to life, and its values, which I find similar to those of my own Mexican culture.

This would be meaningful because it allows me to combine my love of learning, passion for teaching, and desire to make a difference in the world. I am excited to have the opportunity to learn more about a new culture and language, and I am eager to share my knowledge and passion with others.

I will make a difference in their community by sharing my knowledge and passion for cultures and languages with others. I also plan to volunteer to teach English to Japanese students through a local cultural exchange program.
