My Travel Story

by: Cece D Start Date: Jan 8, 2022 - End Date: May 7, 2022

About Us
Hi, we are Riley and Cece! We are currently college freshmen in Wisconsin. Riley is a major in Nuclear Medicine Technology and Cece is double majoring in Nursing and Psychology. We are nature lovers and our time is always best spent exploring the outdoors. Some of our hobbies include hiking, traveling, and camping. Both of us work part-time during college and full-time during the summer in order to save for both future adventures and college expenses.

Our Goal & Dream

In the summer of 2022, we hope to travel to four national parks - Badlands, Yellowstone, Grand Teton and Glacier in a two week time span. We hope to camp, hike, and photograph. The purpose of our trip, in addition to the enjoyment of natural landscapes and wildlife, is to educate ourselves on eco-friendly practices, living, and travel, along with bringing awareness to the importance of protecting & preserving our national parks. We strive to explore without harm, visit without damage, and leave without a trace.

Why Now?
As reality began to hit as we entered college and faced the costs of daily living, we both realized that it's now or never. It has been a long-held dream of ours to go on a journey to explore the natural wonders surrounding us. We would like to have the opportunity to do so before life becomes too complex to be able to work a lengthy road trip into our schedules.

Why Should You Donate?

On a small scale, you are more than welcome to donate in order to help two girls fulfill their dreams of travel and exploration by supporting travel costs, accommodations, etc.

However, on a broader scale, we hope that you choose to support us because we plan eco-friendly travel. We ask for financial support from you in order to purchase eco-friendly products that may not necessarily be the cheapest, such as nature-friendly body soaps, biodegradable wipes and toiletries, ethically sourced/sustainable camping equipment, purchase locally sourced groceries, etc. While an electric car might be our best bet to reduce a carbon footprint, with the budget we have, we are attempting to do the next best thing.

Additionally, by aiding our trip financially and allowing us to go on this journey, you will be helping educate a future generation on our environment. As we plan to document our trip through photography and social media, we hope to encourage and inspire other young people to partake in sustainable travel. As the saying goes - a picture is worth a thousand words. We hope that through sharing visuals of natural landscapes and wildlife, we can bring appreciation to our environment, motivating and inspiring others to do what they can, no matter how small, to help preserve & protect it.
