My Travel Story

My name is Daniel Gichane, a self-taught artist from Thika, Kenya. I grew up in Central Kenya, a place where beauty lives beside struggle. I was shaped by the colors of nature, the silence of pain, and the stories of people who rarely get heard. Even wild leopards would sometimes wander into our village — and to this day, I try to capture that quiet mystery in my art.
 
Now, I have the chance to travel to Italy — to Florence and Rome — the birthplace of Renaissance art. It’s more than a trip; it’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to grow, learn, and become the artist I’ve always dreamed of being.
 
But this journey is not just for me.
 
By learning from great masters and being exposed to global art, I’ll bring back richer, deeper work — art that can inspire, teach, and comfort others, especially young dreamers in my community who think the world isn’t meant for them.
 
This is about breaking barriers — proving that someone from a forgotten slum can carry their voice across oceans, not with money or power, but with honesty, creativity, and heart.
