As most people know I am a current student at Florida State University. I have always thought that I wanted to take the Pre-Medical track; however recently I realized while medicine is still a great passion of mine my love for animals is greater than that. I want to be able to combine these two things and dive into my passion. I have decided to change my major to Zoology (a sub track within my Biology Major) with a minor in Chemistry, in hopes to pursue a career in veterinary medicine.

I am currently a member of Delta Alpha Chi, a Christian sorority within Florida State’s Campus, as well as an active volunteer at The City of Tallahassee Animal Shelter, and Saint Francis Wildlife. My goal is to build up my resume with experience and hands on learning before I graduate next year.

I want to pursue the surgical field within veterinarian medicine, specifically on larger exotic animals, which is why I have chosen this program. I am passionate about this project because I want to be able to see everything this planet has to offer, in both environmental and cultural aspects, in ways only visiting these places can reveal.  This trip could impact my education as well as my career in unimaginable ways, by not only teaching me things that only this trip would be able to, but also by providing me with a unfathomable opportunity that I could experience.
