Hi, I am Joel, 27, medical Technologist from Uganda.
My Travel Story
I am a medical technologist who has been certified by the American Society for Clinical Pathologists, this internship will enhance my hands-on experience in modern medical labs despite the fact that I work with a national referral hospital laboratory.
With three years of experience working in our local medical laboratories in Uganda, I practically can not claim the title of an International Medical Laboratory Scientist which I have carried so far almost since I was licensed by the Board of Certification ASCP.
My main focus on this trip is to obtain sufficient knowledge of Laboratory instrumentation for the instruments I can not utilize and gain experience in observing details in clinical diagnosis of tumors in hematology, and biomarkers which is a point of weakness in our countries.
I choose Europe because I want to obtain experience from leading countries other than Africa, yet I am mindful of the value of any costs related. More specifically, I choose Spain, regardless of which city, because this is the only available location my host can provide.
I am one of the pioneers in obtaining international certification in my field, this far I have been an inspiration to many other graduates in my country Uganda. Therefore, facilitation for skills will be an achievement not only to me but also to shed more light on this field of clinical diagnosis to many colleagues who seem to have lost hope in their careers.
Thank you so much.
