Hello everyone! My name is Ean Pennypacker and I am an aspiring photojournalist. As a student photographer interested in learning more about documentary style photography, the opportunity to travel and see the world is an important part of my education. This summer, Polk State will be hosting a Study Abroad to Italy. Among the courses being offered will be; Special Topics in Travel Photography. This class will allow me to further explore and strengthen my visual communications skills while being chaperoned by visionary leader, Sarah Brewington. While I have managed to fund a few personal trips with the intention of expanding my photography experience, having access to a seasoned photographer will help take my skill set to the next level. The benefits of this trip expand beyond just the time spent in Italy. As a part of the class we will also be given the chance to create a photobook from our travels as well as display 5 of our favorite images in a community gallery. Completing this study abroad course will also allow me to apply for a permanent Global Studies Distinction on my transcript! Career and education aside, a trip like this is a once in a lifetime opportunity. I am truly thankful for everyone willing to help make this dream possible!
