Global Grit: Family Expedition Across Asia & Oceania
My Travel Story
This trip is centered on learning, cultural immersion and a meaningful family bonding- values that we actively teach our children everyday.
Our countries of choice to visit is China, South Korea, Japan, New Zealand, Fiji, Samoa and American Samoa. These are our countries of choice because our eldest (Junior) is studying mandarin chinese and culture in High School and second eldest (Freshman) is a fan of South Korean and Japanese culture, he's learned how to read and write in korean. These specific Pacific Islands because we would like to get a chance to visit and also explore alongside with our children.
My husband is the sole breadwinner of our family and faithfully carries the responsibility of all household expenses. While we budget carefully, a trip of this magnitude is beyond our financial reach without support. Despite this, we deeply believe in exposing our children to diverse cultures, indigenous histories, environmental stewardship a and global perspectives that can't be learned from books alone.
This would be a great opportunity because we live in a diverse community with people that came from these countries and if we are able to go on this trip, our family can share details about what we learned and types of experiences we had in their home countries.
Any support received makes a huge impact on this family and we are beyond grateful.
