16 years old and first solo mission to Peru
My Travel Story
Hi I am Billy, and I have waited so long to be 16 to be able to travel solo to experience new cultures, spend time with nature and I am prepared to work hard to reduce my carbon footprint give up home comforts and live in the Peruvian Jungle to make a difference to our planet. I am joining a young people's project in Cusco. Peru's Amazon rainforest is an incredible place to visit - full of wildlife and raw landscapes but facing its own set of challenges like climate change, increased human development and deforestation.
Volunteers make a real impact by providing invaluable help with a range of conservation tasks. The Amazon Jungle Conservation project is an immersive volunteer experience where I will be based in the heart of the jungle, contributing to the preservation of the natural environment and its diverse ecosystems and its inhabitants.
there are no hotels for me I will be in a home stay where my fees are paying local people to accommodate and feed me as one of their own family, it's going to be cold at night I've only got a cold shower available but I can't wait to meet my hosts and explore their country.
I am taking hygiene supplies for the local people in the area I am staying and any donations will help towards the cost of supplies.
