My Travel Story

My name is Cara. On Sept of 2020 I unnexpectedly lost my 18 year old son. I was unable to even think about Christmas at the time so I took my other three sons on vacation. I have always loved traveling but this was very hard for me to even do, but I am glad I did. It brought me to realiize that for a brief time my brain is admiring the beauty of this earth and the quality time with my other son's so much so that my grief was tolerable, even if for only a bit. It almost felt as if he was there with us. One of my son's bought me a mermaid tail and then in using it I also fell in love with being in the water. Swimming, snorkeling, diving in the water was is the only time that nothing else is on my mind at all but the view and the feeling. It has been two years siince losiing Angelo and I still struggle but I try my hardest to keep going. Travel is my favorite thing to do and it is what I need for my mental health but as we all know it gets expensive. This will be the third christmas that I will try and take my boys somewhere..They said they would rather the quality time than gifts anyway! Thank you for reading my story!
