As a college student who wants to eventually bring together culture through architecture, I want to travel and study. I hope to attend the TEAN Korea winter program which takes place at end of December to mid-January. It sounds exciting and a great way to learn more depth about a culture I know mostly through its popular culture. Plus, I admire many the different architectural works both modern and traditional -- and understanding the culture as well behind the traditional architectural buildings. I want to attend this intersession course in South Korea as I have been fascinated by its modern and traditional culture and as well its architecture. As I explore this topic in Seoul, the knowledge I learn I will use it in my design and research projects during my work at school and beyond. I want to combine modern and traditional techniques and use these for designs. At same time, I want to be able to meet different peers who may have similar or different interests. In this program, I would be part of small fields trips with other students and explore more of the culture from different perspectives. Also, I want to meet Korean students at Korea Univeristy, which where the classes will be held for the program, and understand their perspective of the culture and architecture as well.
