My Travel Story

It's always been an interest of mine to learn foreign languages, especially ones of Asian decent. The same can be said for my sister and close friend; who's so close she can be categorized as family. Our not-so-new attraction, the Korean culture, finally presented an opportunity for us to visit, however given that the program is for 14-17 year olds, we are unable to get jobs that would properly fund ourselves for the trip that will take place this summer. We also come from low income families, so it's already a huge burden. We want to take a little responsibility and pitch in. This would mark our first out of country trip with a friend, and it would be her first time travelling period.

The program offers young students like us to learn in an environment we are totally inexperienced in, with many different subjects incorporated. For example, we have the opportunity to learn about and wear hanbok, traditional Korean clothing. Obviously, we would be learning the language, the program separating an intensive study schedule specifically for learning Korean. And at the end of the day, you can continue your language exchange with your host family, which is a great experience and builds a foundation for learning everyday communication skills. Overall, the program has a great intention, but it is also on the expensive side, which has resulted in us finding this site.

We hope you could take a little time to donate, it would mean the world to us.
