Best friends destination wedding!
My Travel Story
I'm not usually one to reach out for financial assistance when it concerns a personal matter. But I've reached a point of desperation.
I had been planning to attend my best friend's destination wedding months ago. Booked accommodation, did wedding registration and had been arranging and organising for that special day.
A few months ago I had been struggling to get flights organised since it was before the Easter weekend and I'd be travelling from South Africa so the exchange made a difference and everything was pretty steep but after weeks of searching a company popped up with a discounted air rate. I had jumped at the opportunity and R35870 ($1887) seemed reasonable for the flight so I purchased ticket. I received my flight itinerary but not my e-ticket. Attempted to contact the company with no luck. When I saw the airline company try to charge the amount more than once I started panicking. After contacting my bank it was confirmed I was scammed by Budgetair. I had no idea this was possible with a flight.
I have two weeks before I have leave and still need to attend my visa appointment since I had to postpone it because of lack of ticket. I'm so desperate. I know there are greater things that people should require assistance with but I'm devastated that I had been robbed this way and most importantly that I'd be missing my friends wedding. I haven't even broken the news cause I have so much hope that it might still happen. The bank is investigating the matter.
Thank you all for taking the time to listen to my story. Any form of help would be appreciated even a simple prayer that all will work out.
Sincerely,
A
