I’m thrilled to share a major life update with you all—this upcoming August, I will begin an incredible journey studying abroad in Florence, Italy! This opportunity is made possible through Verto Education, in partnership with The University of Tennessee at Knoxville, where I will be earning college credits while immersing myself in a new culture.

As I prepare for this next chapter, I’ve made the decision not to host a traditional graduation party. Instead, I am launching a fundraising campaign to help support the costs of travel and living abroad. This experience is more than just a trip—it’s an investment in my future and a transformative academic opportunity that will shape who I become personally, professionally, and globally.

Why is this important to me?
Studying in Florence will allow me to explore a rich cultural heritage while gaining a global perspective on education, communication, and community. It will enhance my academic journey by giving me the tools to better understand different cultures, broaden my worldview, and build lasting connections. I’ll be learning alongside an international community of students and professors who challenge me to grow intellectually and socially.

How will this impact my education and career?
This program aligns directly with my academic goals and long-term career aspirations. Experiencing a new culture firsthand will improve my adaptability, cross-cultural communication skills, and critical thinking—qualities that are increasingly valuable in any field. It also sets me apart in an increasingly competitive global job market.

How will I make a difference in the community?
I hope to bring back the knowledge, perspective, and appreciation for global citizenship to my community and future career. My aim is to serve as a bridge between cultures, encouraging empathy, understanding, and cooperation—whether in my personal life, professional environment, or community service.

Why am I passionate about this project?

Travel and education have always been passions of mine, and this program offers the rare chance to combine both in a meaningful way. It represents a leap into independence, growth, and purpose—something I’ve worked very hard to earn and am deeply committed to.

Why Florence, Italy?
Florence is a city steeped in art, history, and culture—a true global classroom. From Renaissance masterpieces to vibrant modern life, Florence offers a dynamic environment that will enrich my studies and broaden my understanding of the world. I chose this destination because it represents a perfect blend of academic rigor, cultural immersion, and personal growth.

What makes this meaningful for me?
This journey is more than a study abroad program; it is a defining milestone. It symbolizes resilience, ambition, and the start of a new chapter in my life. I’m proud of the path I’ve chosen and beyond grateful for the chance to take this step toward becoming the person I aspire to be.

If you’d like to support me on this journey—whether through a donation, sharing my campaign, or simply offering encouragement—it would mean the world to me. Every contribution brings me closer to this life-changing opportunity.
Thank you for being part of my community. I’m so excited to bring you along on this adventure and share all that I learn and experience.

With gratitude,

Nathan Zepeda
