Hey! My name is Nacaela and I am a 2nd semester Nursing Student at Missouri Western State University. This summer we have the opportunity to go on a study abroad trip to India that counts as 3 credit hours of class during my 3rd semester. They did this trip last summer and the students came back with experiences and knowledge that you cannot get in a clinical setting. The trip will be approximately 16 days total in Puttur in Southern India. This area of India is extremely poor and do not have access to healthcare like we do. During this trip, we will be healping the health of children who attend the English-median, Christian school in Putter, and others who live at the orphanage. We will be provided an evidence-based wound care clinic in collaboration with the Good Shepherd hospital. The cost of the trip is $2600 excluding money for food and any other extra expenses. Extra money will be donated towards the trip to give them more supplies, etc. Going on this trip will greatly impact my learning as a practicing nurse. Anything will help! Thanks!!
