My Travel Story

Abijah, Ki and Ethan are three genuinely magical and lovely human beings.
The three of them live in a small home in western Sonoma County on a ranch where they have rented for over 17 years. It is a glorious place to grow up though it is removed from the busy cultural center of San Francisco. Nothing but sheep and cows around here! Abijah is an 11 year old home schooled musical delight, and lives with his parents where he spends his days studying Music, the history of Music and Marine Biology. Both Ki and Ethan spend their days as educators and healers, with the occasional venture into ensuring the safety and security of large and small events as harm reduction specialists and soft tactics security professionals. Going to Japan has been a long term goal of Abijah’s father and Ki, and this deep interest has spread to Abijah in the form of a deep fascination with Japanese food, music, history, culture and landscape. Ethan and Ki are both lifelong Martial Artists and their journey to Japan, the home of so many of the venerated arts, is a homecoming for them both, in spirit if not in heritage. Please help them realize the dream of sharing with Abijah the journey of a lifetime! One month in Japan, studying, training, growing and experiencing as a family. We will keep a travel blog and share photos and tips we gather along the way with the goal of helping others find their way in the land of the Rising Sun.
