My Travel Story

As an intermediate Spanish speaker, I am eager to immerse myself in an environment that fosters linguistic and cultural fluency. While I have developed a strong foundation in Spanish through my academic studies, I have not yet had the opportunity to be fully surrounded by the language in a way that would allow for continuous, real-world application.
Through this program, I hope to achieve several personal and academic goals. I aim to become more comfortable with intermediate-level conversational Spanish, develop the ability to understand native speakers in ongoing discussions, and build relationships with individuals outside of the program. Additionally, I am eager to apply my knowledge of Spanish culture during excursions and expand my understanding of Spain’s historical and international influence. On a personal level, I view this experience as an opportunity for growth, stepping out of my comfort zone and overcoming the challenges of extended international travel.
I have worked hard to maintain a 3.7 GPA as a Freddye T. Davys Honors College student, all while volunteering and serving as Miss Hampton University Debate and Forensics Team. Now, I need your help to make this study abroad dream a reality.
I am kindly asking for donations of any amount, to help cover the costs of this experience. I am responsible for raising $5,000 to attend the trip. Every contribution, no matter the size, brings me one step closer to this incredible opportunity. I will be open to reciving donations between now through April 30th.
