Hello! My name is Rahwa Tadesse and I am a Junior at Arizona State University. I am on the pre-law track studying Sociology with a minor in Political Science. I have been extremely passionate about legislation and politics for a while now. They hold a personal place for me as those elements impact the lives of most of my family back home. I have been dipping my toes in legislation and law recently working at my local superior court/ juvenille detention center my sophmore year but I would like to venture out to examine law in an area where my community thrives and have been located in. I am Ethiopian and I know that being in D.C. will not only connect me to my community but also help me understand how I can better help it during the ongoing geneocide occuring in my family's region of Tigray, Ethiopia.

I know this would be beneficial to me because I would be incorperating my passion in this issue as I learn about legislation in D.C.. I am eager to learn about the systems of governing and I am hoping to better visualize my future career with this immersive experience!
