My Travel Story

Hi my name is Delaney. I'm a senior in college, and I play varisty rugby.
My collegiate varsity rugby team is planning on traveling to England and Wales this upcoming spring break. Our team had a great fall season, where we got second place in the NIRA Division 3 Championships. We are looking forward to the spring season where we can continue to improve our skills and rugby experiences on and off the field. This is a great opportunity for our team, and it will be a once in a lifetime opportunity for myself to travel in college as a student athlete. We’ve been offered this amazing chance to play with professional rugby players and experience different cultures of the world. We will get to practice with professional rugby players, watch one of their matches, along with touring historical sites in England and Wales, and touring the Warner Bros. Studios where Harry Potter was filmed!
My team was originally supposed to travel to New Zealand in 2020, but then the pandemic hit and all travel plans were shut down. I was also supposed to study abroad in Morocco for my spring semesters in my sophomore year, and my junior year, but both were canceled again due to the pandemic. One of my biggest goals in going to college was being able to travel and experience different cultures abroad, and to really see the world. This will be the one of the last opportunities I have to travel while in college, and would make my senior year so memorable.
The trip itself is quite expensive, and I have to cover many costs of the trip such as flights, food money, and travel money. I have been working three part-time jobs including house-sitting and dog-walking. This is where you come in! If you feel compelled to donate I would be forever grateful!
