Getting Closer!
I' m working on a draft in which it proposes the ability to be licensed to spay and neuter animals without having to go to vet school for years. Of course, some education would have to be passed to get a license. This is an attempt to provide relief not only to the overpopulated animals but to help the vets responsible for spaying and neutering. They cannot keep up with the demand. -
Soaring Numbers Of Strays!
The precise number of stray animals in Puerto Rico remains elusive due to the challenges of accurately counting free-roaming populations. However, various organizations and government agencies have conducted surveys and estimated that the island is home to a significant population of strays. According to a 2018 study by the Puerto Rico Department of Natural and Environmental Resources, there were an estimated 300,000 stray dogs and 100,000 stray cats on the island. Other estimates have ranged from 500,000 to over a million stray animals. These animals often face challenges such as lack of access to food and water, exposure to harsh weather conditions, and vulnerability to diseases and injuries.
