Hi there! 
My name is Mathilde, i am a 19 years old history student in Paris. 
This year i decided i will prepare for my next big adventure, taking a gap year.
This decisions wasn't took lightly as i would really like to make the most out of it. In the big lines, i would like, during these 12 months gain a professionnal experience in Australia (my sister lives there so i'd like to join her for a bit). Then when i gathered around enough money to take off for a bit, i would first like to travel a little around this side of the globe (New Zealand, New Caledonia, Indonesia...). 

Then comes the time where you can help me : my volunteer mission. 
This part is the second important aspect of my gap year : give back. 
I feel extremely grateful to live the life i have, being able to study what i like (history nerd here) and live comfortably without worrying for the next day. So i want to help, in any way / shape or form, people or part of the world that aren't as lucky as i feel. My dream would be to take part into an environmental / teaching mission. As I've always lived close to the ocean, this element feels really close to my heart and it would be a blessing for me to help clean it up and / or protect its fellow inhabitants. My sister being an oceanologist and I being involved in many foundation as surfRider and Seasheperd, the ocean means the world to us. It really is sad to see it being mistreated as it has been for the past decades. I am always trying to improve my behavior / way of living to be as eco-friendly as possible. 
Otherwise, as i have pretty good skills in english / history and more randomly swimming, i would also love to take the time to teach these as a mission. 
Give back to the earth wether it is Nature or people feels like the right thing to do. The destinations I chose for the mission would be around South America, South Africa, Indonesia, India and Australia / Pacific islands mostly. I feel like this is where i could do and learn the most. 
Taking this time to give back is really important to me, and this year wouldn't feel complete without this part taken. If you feel like helping me, please do so and i will make sure to take you with me through this big adventure. 

If you are still interesting knowing how i will end my gap year, here it comes. 
I always try to lift my spirit up by any means (mostly positive thinking, getting some knowledge in, focusing on my spirituality, meditation, yoga...), and would love to follow a Yoga Teacher Training in Bali. I'm just waiting on the dates for the 2021 programs and already put some money aside for it!
