My Travel Story

I hope to go to Guatemala next January for a class called Environmental Culture. As a government and sociology major, I hope to see the effects of deforestation, and the devastation that occurs when fincas (small farms) are divided up or otherwise taken over by larger companies, or affected by issues like narcotrafficking. I hope to see how deforestation affects the health of the Maya Itzá people. Bringing back what I learn I hope to use this to teach others and talk about my experiences on how we as Americans can help them. I am passionate about this project because I want to learn more about different cultures. Thank you in advance for all of your help.
