My Travel Story

Hey all!

I have been blessed with the opportunity to travel to South Africa in order to help women in need of mental health services. I am a Christian-based licensed mental health therapist and I would love to be able to make a change in a part of the world that does not have the opportunities that we have in the United States. I am planning to travel to South Africa to assist women in low-income/high-risk communities manage their mental health issues through skills building, therapy, and self-care. 

In many cultures, mental health issues are viewed as a sign of weakness, immorality, or even possession of some sort.  My ultimate goal is to educate people, particularly women, on the importance of mental health care so they are able to live healthy and productive lives, while also incorporating their religious and spiritual beliefs into treatment. I plan to make a change in the way South African women view themselves and their worth in their community in order to make the community healthier as a whole.

My life passion is to help others and I would be eternally grateful for this opportunity to make a difference in a country where it is much needed. I hope you will consider donating to this cause and help me acheive my dream of impactful missionary work!
