My Travel Story

by: Paige Hatherall Start Date: Jan 30, 2016 - End Date: May 29, 2016
Sri Lanka Volunteer (SLV) is a volunteering project ran by graduate psychology students who aim to benefit a community in need of support. After 6 years of running the project in Sri Lanka they have now extended their support to Bali and I am fortunate enough to have successfully secured a place in one of the first teams going.

I will be there for 4 weeks and here's a bit about what I will be doing:

Bali has under-resourced and inadequatley staffed facilities for special needs and mental health service users and this is why a group of us will be going and offering our knowledge and skills to provide help. During my stay in Bali I will be volunteering in psychiatric facilities, special needs centres and teaching English to children and young adults.

I have created this fundraising page to reach out to those of you that see the benefits of volunteering abroad and for those of you who are interested in folowing my journey in Bali. I will keep you all updated with photos and videos of my time there, enabling you to share some of my experiences. Any money donated will be greatly appreciated and will all go towards the cost of  my volunteering fees and flights.
