Camila's South Africa Zoo Medicine Trip
My Travel Story
Hello! My name is Camila Valdez and I am currently a third year Animal Science Pre Vet Major at Cal Poly Pomona. My goal is to study Veterinary Medicine and become a Vetereinarian that specializes in livestock and large animals, however, I believe it is important to learn about multiple different species to broaden my knowledge and interests!
This summer, I will be taking part of a two week South Africa Zoo Medicine program based at the Lory Park Animal and Owl Sanctuary. On this trip, I will be assisting in verterinary procedures, learning more about medical needs in captivity, behavior and conservation of the animals native to the area. I am very excited for this trip and I would appreciate any help towards making it possible. Thank you so much!
