My Travel Story

Hi everyone!
I have been accepted to the FSU study abroad program in Valencia, Spain this summer! Getting the opportunity to study abroad has always been a dream of mine and I am beyond ecstatic. I have never been out of the country, but without fail anyone I’ve spoken with about studying abroad has said it was a life-changing experience they wouldn't trade for the world.

Studying abroad is more than just attending classes in a different location; it will fulfill my dream of exploring the world and gaining insights that extend beyond the traditional classroom setting. I am (and have been) working to save money to help make this dream a reality and am seeking support! The costs associated with this study abroad program, including tuition, travel, and living expenses, are substantial- to be expected. By reaching out to my friends, family, and my community, I am hoping to build a team of support that will not just help me financially but will also make this journey a collective effort!

This experience will challenge me in ways that push me to grow on so many levels. I thrive when I am challenged. I also love learning about the complexities of the human mind and human behavior. Studying abroad offers an opportunity to explore how cultural nuances can shape peoples’ thoughts, emotions, and actions. To add to this, being away from home where I have familiar support and comfort resources will push me to grow as an individual. I am looking forward to enhancing my confidence, independence, adaptability, and self-reliance which are qualities vital for personal growth.

Overall, I am ecstatic to experience this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and use it to my full advantage. The ability to thrive in a new environment and connect with people from different cultures will not only aid my professional interactions, compel me to be a more effective advocate, but will also make me a significantly more well-rounded person. Your contribution, no matter the size, will play a crucial role in helping me. If you would like to be a part of this exciting journey or share this with others who may be interested, I have attached more details about the study abroad program and ways to contribute!  Thank you for taking the time to read this letter and for supporting me with this incredible adventure. I am grateful for assistance, and I look forward to sharing my experiences with everyone!

With love,
Madison
