My mothers side of the family has an heriditary eye disease called Retinitis Pigmentosa. Due to the course of this disease, there is currently no treatment available. My grandfather is completely blind, my mom is has lost half her sight already and my little sister has the same future full of uncertainty ahead of her. Through an incredible chance granted to me by a professor at my home university (Radboud University, Nijmegen, The Netherlands), I can perform research in Melbourne, Australia in the topic of gene therapy. This therapy could be a complete game changer!!
And how AMAZING would it be if I can contribute to the medicine that might save my sisters sight?
The flight tickets and visa are covered by my university, but all other expenses are on me. Therefore I need a little help :)
