Fund my trip to Volunteer as ‘Wildlife Sanctuary Supporter’
My Travel Story
About The Project
Situated in the heart of the African savannah, this sanctuary serves as a refuge for Namibia’s injured and orphaned wildlife. Many of these animals have been relocated away from local farms as they are seen as ‘problem animals’, deemed to be a risk to livestock and crops and are therefore targeted by farmers. Additionally, the wildlife trade in Africa is rife, and many animals (such as baboons) are forcibly separated from their mothers at a young age, which in turn results in them missing out on developing the important skills which would aid their lives in the wild.
About Me!
I'm a marine science student in my 3rd year of college, interested in environmental studies and care for animals. This opportunity is something that could help me experience the world that much more. I'm only 19yo but I know where I want to be. I want to travel and get to discover it all.
Volunteering abroad, specifically in wildlife conservation projects in Namibia, offers me a remarkable opportunity to make a meaningful difference and experience the world in a unique way. By choosing to work with animals and contribute to wildlife conservation efforts, I become part of a critical movement that safeguards biodiversity and protects endangered species.
Volunteering abroad in Namibia allows me to immerse myself in a captivating environment filled with breath-taking landscapes and diverse wildlife. I'll have the chance to engage directly with magnificent creatures like Baboons, lions, cheetahs, and many others, witnessing their beauty and witnessing first-hand the challenges they face.
Not only does volunteering abroad in wildlife conservation provide a chance to contribute to a noble cause, but it also allows for personal growth and development. I'll acquire valuable skills such as animal tracking, habitat restoration, and data collection, all while working alongside experienced conservationists, other volunteers and hopefully, soon to be friends. The knowledge and experiences gained can be applied to future endeavours or even spark a lifelong passion for conservation.
Moreover, volunteering abroad in Namibia creates an opportunity for cultural exchange. I have the chance to collaborate with local communities, learning about their traditions, customs, and ways of life. This intercultural interaction fosters mutual understanding and appreciation, promoting a more connected and compassionate world.
Ultimately, being a volunteer abroad in wildlife conservation in Namibia offers a chance to leave a positive impact on the planet while broadening my horizons. It's an adventure that combines a love for animals, a passion for conservation, and a desire to create a sustainable future. So, let me seize the opportunity, embark on this remarkable journey, and become an agent of change for wildlife and their habitats in Namibia.
