My Travel Story

Hello all! I am an Early Childhood Professional seeking to further my understanding of child development through research abroad! I have obtained my MA in Early Childhood Education and am working on my Doctorate in Education now. I opened a non-profit preschool program about seven years ago that is modeled after schools built in Reggio Emilia, Italy post WWII. I am extremely passionate about child-led learning, emergent curriculum models, and advocating for high quality education in the early years. Our youngest citizens need strong advocates who will ensure that their voices are heard and that they are allowed to learn and grow in ways that meet their individual needs!

Participating in a research study group abroad in Italy will allow me to deepen my understanding of these philosophies. By immersing myself in the culture of early childhood education in Italy, I will be able to bring these ideas back home to the US and enhance not only my program, but also programs in my larger community.
