My Travel Story

by: Travis Woods Start Date: Mar 25, 2025 - End Date: Mar 24, 2026
Aloha, my name is Travis Woods and 40 years young.

Nature, plants, and animals have always been my greatest teachers. I have a deep-rooted passion for healing—especially through medicinal herbs, intentional living, and sacred connection with the land. For me, nature is a whole universe of wisdom and healing that many people have yet to fully experience.

I'm on a mission to build a sanctuary of healing—starting with an apothecary and retreat center that blends natural medicine, permaculture, and sacred intention. It will include healing mineral baths infused with herbs and flowers, an organic pool filled with pure, loving frequencies, and a place where the water itself holds medicine for the soul. That’s just the beginning.

Eventually, I will expand to include:

Permaculture gardens that feed the community

Low-cost housing for those in need, especially veterans and the unhoused

A new kind of education center—free from outdated systems, rooted in truth, nature, and hands-on learning

A spiritual sanctuary where people can reconnect with Source and themselves

A living library to preserve the wisdom of the islands and beyond—gathered directly from the elders, healers, and stewards of the land

All of this comes from a place of service, love, and a calling I’ve felt since I was a child. I didn’t choose Hawaii—Hawaii chose me.

Right now, things are tough. My car recently broke down, and I’m without transportation. My funds are very low as I wait to hear back from Social Security to see if I’ll be awarded benefits for a spinal injury I’ve lived with since a freeway accident in California back in 2006.

It’s been a long journey of shifting from physical labor to something that’s always been in my heart—teaching, healing, and guiding others through dark times, using everything I’ve learned from my own life. I’ve fallen more times than I can count, but I always get back up. And now I want to create something lasting that helps others do the same.

This is the first time I’m truly putting myself out there and asking for help.

With your support, I’ll be able to travel around the islands, learning from elders and herbalists, gathering wisdom and plant knowledge to bring back to the apothecary. Everything I learn will be documented and shared—through offerings, workshops, and a library for the community.

I travel with my service dog, Red, who’s been my protector, emotional support, and a healing spirit for not only me—but for others too. She’s part of this journey just as much as I am.

My dream is not just for me—it’s for the future of this world. For our children, our grandchildren, and the generations to come. Something needs to shift. I believe we can be part of that change, together.

Mahalo nui loa for taking the time to hear my story. If this vision speaks to you, I’d be honored to have your support. Every contribution, no matter the size, helps bring this dream into reality.

And if you’d like to hear more about what I’m building—I’d love to share it with you.
