My Travel Story

I am very excited about my volunteering venture in Auckland New Zealand! I am going to be a Coastline Conservation and Education Project volunteer for three weeks!

I will be supporting a project that has the goal of reducing New Zealand's coastal litter by 60% by 2030. I will be helping with beach clean-ups, education events regarding conservation and awareness about the issue, change workshops, and litter data collection. Through this project I hope to have a positive impact on New Zealand's community and environment. 

It has been a dream of mine to visit New Zealand for many years, and doing so through a volunteer program is the perfect way to achieve this dream since I will be simultaneously striving to help others and our world. I anticipate this experience to be fulfilling and enriching both because of the awesome experience of the beauty of New Zealand, and because of the opportunity to step out of my comfort zone and work for a larger cause that has significance far beyond me.

Disclaimer: I am fundraising to alleviate the costs of my flight and my volunteer program fee (the fee covered costs such as my housing and breakfast and lunch while I am there.) Thankfully I have already been able to pay for my flight and fee, so the purpose of this fundraiser is to gain back the losses from these two expenses.
