Finally Getting on a Damn Plane!
My Travel Story
I have been living in the U.S. my entire life and frankly, I am sick and tired of the extreme racism and sexism I experience on a daily here. As a Hispanic/Middle Eastern woman, I feel ostracized from the second I walk out of my home, due to the many people who appropriate my culture and diminish my humanity.
I have always aspired to live amongst the accepting European culture, and I finally got the chance to do so!! With a study abroad program I was able to find.
However, due to my low socioeconomic status, I am unable to afford it with my funds alone, so I am asking for your help since I believe despite our shortcomings, there are good souls in this world.
Any amount is greatly appreciated no matter how high or low!
I will be studying in Germany, and visiting Denmark, mostly because I want to study Scandinavian Happiness, in comparison to the depressive, borderline corrupt American apparatus. I want to ensure that more environmentalists and political figures understand the psychology and sociology of a happy country and attempt to implement these in many unhappy countries out there, especially those that deprive their people of basic human rights. This experience will allow me to pursue a career as a Clinician/therapist, in which I will focus on helping minority populations feel accepted in an unwelcoming environment
