My Travel Story

Hello, my son Josiah is 11yrs old. Last year for his birthday all he wanted was to see the ocean for the 1st time. So I sold my motorcycle so we could take a week and go to seaside oregon. That trip was so amazing to see his excitement about everything and say " i have never dug clams, can we please try?" Or flipping rocks to find little crabs, the list goes for days. It is nkw Josiahs favorite place he's been to and wants to go back this year for his birthday. The joy he had and the love I felt watching him and creating those memories with him is something I will never forget. I told him we would figure something out to go back this year for his birthday and started saving what we could but I am a single father so we have one income to live on and it's barley enough to pay for our home, we live in a nice manufactured home but other than that live pretty modestly. My truck just had some engine problems and it being towed and repairs my savings I'd wiped out and I owe the mechanic so I won't be saving much next cpl months. He is such a smart, caring, and well behaved kid I am blessed and he never ask for anything. He goes to dual language school and learns everything in English and Spanish, plays baseball and golf, doesn't argue or talk back, and cares so much about others! If there's a 11 yr old boy out there that deserves a birthday in his favorite place to learn and experience things while creating memories he will always remember its this guy! I know I'm probably a little bias but everyone that's ever met him always say, "wow, he is such a good kid!" Or "wow is he smart" I love this guy so much and wish I could provide better for him, but being a single dad gets tough with braces, school cloths, and auto repairs. I am hoping to raise between $700-$1000 for his birthday trip. We don't need fancy hotels, w will camp, and we don't need to eat out, we love cooking together! I would like to take hi to the aquarium, and buy him a kite to fly, maybe a ferry ride and a cpl souvenirs and the rest for food, camp ground, and fuel its a 7 hour drive. Will we survive without this trip, of course we will. But does he deserve and want this trip so badly, yes he does and I think I work hard and deserve to be able to give him a birthday he smiles for days and is so excited about everything. I will start saving for the following year and keep fingers crossed nothing unexpected pops up like the engine issues. I just want to thank you for your time and consideration to help fund this amazing young man's birthday trip. I hope we can share some photos with anyone and everyone that helps make this dream come true!
     Sincerely one proud father, Brad
