The MEDLIFE movement has the main objective of raising funds for low-income communities in Latin America and Africa to improve their access to medicine, education, and community development projects. In July 2022, I'll embark on a  week-long service learning trip to Peru, where I'll be collaborating with the local community on a variety of development projects and medical clinics. This trip will give me the opportunity to learn about the historical, political, and economic factors that have influenced the realities faced by the communities in Peru. I'll also be able to broaden my knowledge of global health by shadowing healthcare professionals. My enthusiasm for helping others and travelling to new places makes this volunteering experience a dream come true.
