My Travel Story

As I arrive upon my senior year of college, I've realized the value and significance of cultural competency in the professional atmosphere and life in general. I know there are ways I can develop this at home, but I know that this hop over the pond will grant me the opportunity to understand intersectionality at a whole new level. Alongside taking the three-credit course "Comparative Health Systems in the US and UK" while I'm in London, I'll be navigating the culture and its people with my cohort. Once I'm finished I plan to meet up with a close friend of mine and then we'll travel to Cullera, Valencia, Spain to stay in a co-living space with other like-minded folks with the goal of producing a positive impact within the local community. We plan to do simple clean-up jobs on the beaches and visit the local businesses and elderly communities to lend a helping hand. 

Traveling this far away from home is definitely going to be scary but I want to challenge myself. My parents didn't raise me to be a homebody. I'm ready to step outside my comfort zone and into the unknown. I'm so grateful to all of you for supporting me already and can't wait to share my experiences with you. Godspeed.
