My Travel Story

I was granted the amazing opportunity to study abroad in Scotland for this upcoming fall quarter and to say I am excited is an understatment. At the University of Edinburgh I will have the chance to take design courses that can help me develop skills to help me reach my goal of becoming a UX/UI designer. 

Prior to being accepted, I was already planning out how I would go about being able to afford it. I have a twin sister (in the second picture, we are fraternal haha so i know we don't look identical) and she is also planning to study abroad in the fall, I hope to be able to experience this with her. I am a low-income, first-gen student who comes from a single-parent household so money has always been something I felt anxious about. i would say that my ultimate goal in life is to be financially stable and to not have to put myself or my future children through that feeling again. I currently attend UCSD on a scholarship so I know I have been blessed. Although the cost does intimidate me I am planning to do everything in my power to raise the money myself because I don't want to have this be a financial burden on my mom. I already have an on-campus job, but I plan on taking up a lot more hours in the summer to raise it. If you can donate, I would greatly appreciate it and I hope i am able to share my experience with you all :)
