Thanks for stopping by! My name is Brian Kelm, I was born in Houston Texas and currently live in Little Rock Arkansas. After two years of struggling to get a teaching job, my future wife, Summer, has gotten a teaching job in Seoul, South Korea, hoping that it will help our family become more financially stable, and provide our daughter with a much better education. We plan to leave in August, and are staying until July 2021 or maybe longer. I'm putting my career path on hold, postponing going to college, hoping I can participate in volunteering and internships in Seoul in order to improve my resume and college application letter to give myself a boost for future employers to hire and train me for higher paying positions so that I may better support my family. Currently, it's been difficult finding a full time job without a college degree or something exemplary in my resume. My future wife and I have been living paycheck to paycheck for seven years together, and have been unable to progress in our careers. My parents and her parents have also struggled with finances. My dad has kidney failure, and my mom lives paycheck to paycheck out of state. Her mom and dad aren't in the picture, making us the only family she really has. Paying for an internship will help me in that it will give me real career work experience, whereas I only have retail experience, a recommendation letter, and an opportunity to obtain a work visa in Seoul and get a paying job, which would allow us to live there even longer. Alternatively it would allow me to get into a better college and receive scholarships when we return home. It would mean the world to me to be able to contribute to my family in ways I have not been able to before.
