Volunteer Trip! Buenos Aires Community Renovation Project
My Travel Story
Having spent the better part of the last three decades doing the typical "work/life" thing, I found myself quite disheartened, and at times very frustrated, with the hustle and grind. Feeling very little life-satisfaction, I decided I was going to get out there and see the world - and knew volunteering would be a great way to do that while making a positive impact. When I saw the Construction & Renovation Project in Buenos Aires, I couldn't help but feel the pull of this project. It is especially meaningful to me because my dad, who passed away last year, was born in that very city. The opportunity to be able to visit his birthplace AND provide help to the local community brings such a surge to my heart.
Working alongside United Through Sport, we will be painting, gardening, tiling, building, and repairing local schools, soup kitchens and other community spaces in disadvantaged areas of Buenos Aires. Our work will contribute to reducing the risk of children dropping out of school, and educating and empowering the community.
The duration of my stay is one week. All funds donated will go to the deposit, program fee, passport, airfare, and travel insurance.
