Hello!
My name is Chelsea, and I'm a certified teacher in pursuit of a passion.

I have taught 5th grade in a Title 1 public school for 2 years, and while I have loved the experience, I long to take my skills abroad while immersing myself in a new culture.
In order to be the best possible educator I can be, I believe it is deeply important to push myself out of my comfort zone and experience life in a different part of the world.
I have accepted a job teaching English in Japan, but need your support to get there! Packing up and moving halfway around the world is daunting, and expensive.

I plan to stay in Japan for several years while I make an impact helping young minds learn and master a second language. I would eventually like to become fluent enough in Japanese to start Master's degree classes and pursue my TEFL/TESL certification (teaching English has a foreign or second language).

I chose Japan because I am deeply fascinated by the school culture and way of life. I also want to learn more about Asian history.

Besides teaching, I want to start a travel blog for other teachers looking to take their skills around the world. Eventually, I would like to write a book on the topic to help encourage other educators to pursue their dreams.

This opportunity is something I have wanted and worked for since I was a child. I would truly appreciate your support!
