My Travel Story

I’ve deeply desired to see the world since I was a kid, and though I have been lucky enough to secure a couple of trips in the past, my wish to officially globetrot has yet to come to fruition.

There aren't any severely urgent or tragic circumstances necessitating my journey abroad. There are likely many people who need funding for traveling more than I do, and more urgently.

My heart goes out most to those facing terminal illness, who want to see the world with the short time they have alloted, as well as those struggling to find a way to see a beloved and distant family member. I hope they receive the funding they are seeking.

As far as my own story goes: 2025 marks the tail end of a very dark period in my life. During covid I lost several members of my family, including my father and grandfather, as well as a beloved pet, over a few years.

The culmination of these events took quite an emotional toll; unfortunately further exacerbating multiple chronic health conditions I'd been battling, which have now affected my ability to work.

I haven’t been particularly energetic these past few years, grief and disability have their own guidelines which cannot always be swayed by the individual will, despite our best efforts. This is especially true of grief in the early stages; it can be a fulltime job.

Recently I have been feeling lighter and getting an urge to get out of my comfort zone. I want to see the world while I’m still young and able.

There are a handful of places I would be love go to: Japan, Brazil, and Morocco, to name a few.
I would be glad to visit any of them. There is a travel group headed to Japan in March, for example, that I would love to attend (I have the program fee and expenses listed).

I would be very grateful to anyone who is able to help finance my travels.

I have a feeling traveling will lead me to a greater sense of purpose and get me back to my first and foremost loves (which are longing for my attention): creating art and writing.
