My Travel Story

I have recently been accepted to do medical volunteering abroad with International Volunteer HQ! 

On February 17th I will head to Cusco, Peru for 3 weeks to learn about the Peruvian healthcare system and gain hands-on experience in hospitals and clinics for low-income communities, as well as assisted living facilities. These facilities are often underfunded and understaffed so medical volunteers are an important source of assistance for local doctors and nurses and help to improve access to these vital health services for local people.

I am more than excited to be a part of such an incredible opportunity and I am looking for some support from my friends, family, and community to help me in this journey. 

I have put forward the money to cover the program fee which totaled $1,463. This includes housing, breakfast, and dinner with a local host family. However, I am looking for some help with the additional cost of the program including the flight, travel insurance, and required PPE I am to bring. I have put a cost breakdown below and would be grateful for any contribution to help me with this incredible opportunity!

Non-latex sterile gloves: $10
Surgical masks: $15
Disposable gowns: $20
