My Travel Story

I am raising funds to travel abroad and explore different forms of art, meet other artists, and learn new techniques and styles that I can bring back home to grow both myself and my community. My goal is not just personal development  it is a mission to transform creativity into opportunity for others.
After careful thought, I have chosen Florence, Italy as the place to begin this journey. Florence is the heart of the Renaissance  a city where art, culture, and creativity changed the world. It is home to some of the greatest artists in history: Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, and Botticelli. Their work continues to inspire people across centuries and continents. As someone who works with stone daily, I am deeply drawn to Michelangelo’s sculptural genius  the way he turned marble into emotion.
Florence is not just a city to visit  it is a place to feel, learn, and grow. I hope to walk through its museums and streets, study the art, understand the techniques, and engage with local artists who are keeping the spirit of creativity alive. I want to experience sculpture, painting, street art, and even digital design so I can tell stories through art not just from a Kenyan perspective, but through a global lens.

But this journey is about more than just me.

Back in my village, many talented young people are struggling. Joblessness is high, and creative opportunities are rare. I want to come back and use what I learn to build something meaningful  a small creative hub or community art space where we can teach, create, and sell art together. I want to train jobless youth in soapstone carving, painting, and other art forms  turning passion into purpose and art into income.

Your support will help fund my travel, accommodation, museum access, workshops, and art supplies  all of which will go directly into shaping my growth and the future creative programs I’ll bring back to Kenya.
I believe in the power of art to connect people, tell stories, and change lives. With your help, this journey to Florence can be the beginning of something much bigger a way to empower others through creativity, restore pride in our cultural heritage, and build a future where rural talent meets global opportunity.
From Kisii to Florence — help me carve a new path.
Thank you for believing in me.
