My Travel Story

Hey! We are a group of seven medical students from Bergen, Norway who this fall is gonna volunteer in Pokhara, Nepal with IVHQ. We are going to volunteer in the hospital in the city in different deparments. We are so looking forward to bedring able to help out where we can, learn about Nepal healthcare, and maybe share somerhing from the norwegian healthcare. We are going to do a homestay where we will stay with a local family, and we are looking forward to this, to get to know the culture even better. We are also hoping to do the Annapurna BaseCamp trek if we get the time and oppurtunity.

We would love if you want to support our project, and us! The money will be used to support the local community, helping us with the finiancial of the volunteering, families we will stay with, and use of local companies for activities. If we get money over what we need to do the work, we will buy medical supply to the hospital, like syringes, bandages etc, and also baby toys and hats for the pediatric departement.

We believe that this trip will make us better future doctors, and also better human beings, after meeting with people in need from different countries and with another financial health care basis. We chose Nepal because we believe it is a country where our help will be needed, but also as a place we can lean so much! About health care in a very different country than Norway, about culture, different humans with different stories, and teach us things about ourself.
