My Travel Story

My name is Tigidankay Timbo, and I am raising funds to travel to Sierra Leone to continue the work my family and I have started through the People’s Development Foundation (PDF). This trip is more than a journey home it is a mission to serve, empower, and create opportunities for women, youth, and communities that depend on our support.

This December, the PDF will be hosting our first dinner fundraising events, meetings, and training activities focused on empowering young women, training rural villages, and building sustainable solutions in Sierra Leone. Being present is crucial. I have responsibilities that cannot be fulfilled from a distance this includes organizing programs for young women struggling with addiction, coordinating our section secretaries and training them how to use our PDF App that I created in Rokulan, and supporting our community partnerships.

Your support will also allow me to represent the Foundation at key gatherings connected to my father’s ongoing work for the people of Sierra Leone. Many leaders like the First Lady of the Sierra Leone will be present and Vice president and community stakeholders members and NGO's are expecting me to be there, and my presence will help strengthen the relationships needed to advance our long-term projects and help us get funding for our foundation.

Unfortunately, due to my current financial situation, I am unable to cover the travel cost on my own. But I believe strongly in the mission God placed in my heart: to serve people and uplift communities that have been overlooked for far too long. I also registered the same nonprofit in the states last week and looking foward to making the peoples development foundation a global organization.

With your contribution no matter the amount you will be helping me travel to Sierra Leone to continue this work, empower young women who deserve a second chance, and bring hope back to communities that need it most.

HOW YOUR CONTRIBUTION WILL HELP
Your support will directly cover:
• Transportation to project sites in Rokulan, Karene, and Makeni
• Materials needed for the women’s empowerment and addiction-recovery program
• Support for the PDF fundraising dinner and community outreach
• Food and basic necessities during my stay
• Media and documentation needed for transparency and impact reporting
Every dollar given moves us closer to creating real, lasting change.

WHY THIS MATTERS
I am not traveling for vacation.
I am traveling with purpose to serve.

Sierra Leone is filled with talented young men, women and bright youth who simply need an opportunity. With your help, I will be able to:

• Train women to create coconut-shell candles they can sell
•Train women at my beauty academy in Makeni
•Offer Free beauty kits to start business
• Support girls and youth in our AI for Sierra Leone initiative
• Meet partners and secure resources for community development
• Strengthen PDF’s programs and expand our reach

Your donation will help me show up for the people who are counting on us.
